B-Level Automotive Technician

Willis Auto LLC is looking for an experienced B-Level Automotive Technician who is confident performing general automotive repairs as well as larger mechanical jobs. This position is ideal for a technician who can work independently, follow service information and repair procedures, and complete quality repairs without constant supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform complete engine removal and replacement.
  • Perform complete transmission removal and replacement.
  • Complete timing chain/belt and related engine repairs.
  • Perform cooling system, fuel system, and ignition system repairs.
  • Replace turbos, water pumps, alternators, starters, and other major components.
  • Perform brake, steering, suspension, wheel bearing, axle, and driveline repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and general automotive repair.
  • Use scan tools to retrieve trouble codes, monitor data, and perform basic resets/relearn procedures.
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical diagnosis.
  • Follow manufacturer service information, torque specifications, and repair procedures.
  • Properly document repairs, findings, and recommendations.
  • Perform post-repair inspections, leak checks, road tests, and quality-control checks.
  • Maintain an organized and professional work area.

Qualifications:
  • Previous professional automotive repair experience required.
  • Must be capable of completing engine and transmission replacements with minimal supervision.
  • Strong mechanical ability and understanding of modern automotive systems.
  • Comfortable using service information and repair procedures.
  • Able to use diagnostic scan tools and standard automotive testing equipment.
  • Must have your own basic hand tools.
  • Able to accurately diagnose straightforward mechanical concerns and recognize when advanced diagnosis is needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing repairs correctly.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for a dependable technician who can be given a diagnosed vehicle and repair plan and take the job from start to finish. You do not need to be an advanced diagnostic/A-level technician, but you should be comfortable handling major mechanical repairs independently and know when additional diagnostic assistance is needed.

Experience with light-duty diesel or heavy-duty trucks is a plus, but not required.
